The Biography of the President of the Kosovo Protestant Evangelical Church
Femi Cakolli, was born on March 1, 1969, in the village of Mirash (Krilevë) in the municipality of Dardana (Kamenica).
From 1990-1991 he was a member of the Movement for Blood Feud Reconciliation.
From 1990-1992 he was the founder and the chairman of the Cultural Society “Albana” in Dardana (Kamenica).
From 1990-1993 he was the deputy chairman of the Association for the Elimination of Illiteracy in the municipality of Dardana.
He was converted into Christian faith on March 15, 1992, when he was also a senior student for Literary Studies, and he was baptized on May 17, 1992 by Pastor Anton Krasniqi.
From May 1992 to July 1994, he was the Leader for the Youth Ministry within the Church of the “Lord’s Fellowship People” in Prishtina.
In October 1994 he founded the Protestant Church “Messiah Evangelical Church” in Pristina.
In December 1994 he was ordained as a pastor of the Church “Messiah Evangelical Church” and he continues to serve this call.
In 1995 he graduated from the University of Prishtina, in the field of Albanian Literature by defending the diploma thesis “The Bible and the Albanian Literature” to Professor Hasan Mekuli.
Since 1995, he is the member of the international organization “Horizons Internatonal” based in Boulder, Colorado.
From 1995 to 1999 he worked as a volunteer in the Kosovo Paraplegics Association, later HANDIKOS, working with Halit Ferizi.
From July 1997, he was the founder and editor of the Publishing House “Tenda”, and the magazine “Living Letters”.
From 2001 to 2010 he became an external co-worker of “Media Associations International”, Chicago, USA.
In 2002 he completed his postgraduate studies in the class of Professor Sabri Hamiti (the course “Analysis of literary forms of Albanian literature) and in the class of Professor Zejnullah Rrahmani (the course “Literary Theories”).
In 2002, he defended the master thesis titled “Biblical Code in Albanian Literature” at the Faculty of Philology in Prishtina.
From 2005 he is the director of cultural and scientific projects known as “The Path of the Light” within the Protestant community of Kosovo.
In 2006 he defended his doctoral (PHD) thesis entitled “Biblical Hypertext in Kosovo Literature” at the Faculty of Philology in Prishtina.
In 2006, 2010-2011 he was the President of the Kosovo Protestant Evangelical Church.
From 2007 he has been vice-president of the Association for the Development of Gallap region “Galabri” and editor of the magazine “Gallapi”.
From 2009 to 2014 he conducted theological studies at bachelor level, within the Bible Institute for Leaders Development, at Ames, Iowa, USA.
Since 2010 he is the member of the Writers’ Association of Kosovo.
In 2014 he became a co-founder of the Institute for Albanian and Protestant Studies (IAPS) in Tirana.
In 2017, he became a candidate for doctorate at the American Institute in Ames, Iowa for theological studies at the “Biblical Institute of Leaders Development”.
In March 2018 he was elected as the President of the Kosovo Protestant Evangelical Church for a three-year term.
Pastor Cakolli participates quite often in conferences, seminars, courses, regional and international panels, also he is present in the media by debating various topics.
So far F.C. has published 7 books and over 300 different publicistic and scientific articles inside and outside of Kosovo.
Mr. Cakolli is married in 1999 and his five-member family lives in Pristina.
