Intensified cooperation between the Protestant Evangelical Churches of Western Balkans
In the coastal city of Bar of Montenegro on 10 to 12 December 2014 meeting of Protestant Evangelical Churches of the Balkan region under the chairmanship and initivative of the European Evangelical Alliance, namely the General Secretary Mr. Thomas Bucher.
The Balkans counts 12 countries (Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania and Moldova), and in this meeting were six Protestant evangelical Alliances from the following countries: Kosovo, Albania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina). This was the first meeting of this format and from now on there will be meetings more regular of this kind with the purpose and the need that the other national alliances be made part of, wherever functional, and to form where do not yet exist.
The purpose of the meeting in Bar was to intensify regional cooperation between national alliances, to exchange experiences and ideasand to look together at some of the challenges encountered within some churches and alliances in this part of Europe, as well as to promote the advancement of the gospel and strengthening of network of Evangelical Alliances.
The meetings were held in good spirit of cooperation. Participants felt enriched and went home encouraged and equipped.
